Please don’t settle for the canned variety shaped like a miniature 55-gallon drum.  Your cranberry sauce can be so much better, and it is easy to make.

Let’s dive into this easy dish that can be made days ahead of time. You can also vacuum seal it and keep it in the freezer for months.

You can add other flavorings such as the zest of a lemon or an orange, cloves, or even a shot of brandy or cognac. Play with some seasonal flavorings and see what you get.

Ingredients
  

All Ingredients

  • .5 cup Orange Juice
  • .5 cup Apple Cider
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Dark, packed
  • 3 cup Cranberries Fresh, washed, and drained
  • .5 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice Ground
  • 1 pinch Salt Morton Coarse Kosher Salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients in a small pot and bring to a simmer.
    Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Pour into your sealable container, let cool, cover, and refrigerate until the day of serving.
