About the Recipe

French green beans are a nice alternative to the traditional canned variety, which I love, but they make for a better presentation on the table.

These beans are tender but crunchy at the same time. They provide that wholesome, delicious, rustic imagery of a Fall or Winter meal.

What is great about these beans is they so simple to make and can be cooked in a cast iron pan and served in the same pan.

Variations

You could add slivered almonds for additional texture in the bite, or a julienned ham to give them a smokiness flavor.
